What is Gelato?

Gelato is Italy’s version of ice cream, with three important differences:

Gelato contains less than half the milk fat than ice cream’s typical 18 to 30%. But, less fat does not mean less taste!Because Gelato is made with less milk fat, it is less solidly frozen than ice cream so it melts in your mouth faster!

Gelato is not ‘puffed up’ with air added. That makes it denser, with more flavor per mouthful, creating a higher quality dessert with a richer, creamier taste.

Gelato is served a bit warmer than ice cream because it is less solidly frozen, further enhancing its flavor as it melts in your mouth.
